To increase awareness of the sport Country Life is holding its annual open day between 11am & 4pm on the 20th April 2008 at Bowden Springs Trout Fishery, Linlithgow. You can learn to cast a fly rod from SANA qualified instructors, Try out the latest equipment from all the leading brands, Watch  Trout & Salmon casting displays by special guests Hywel Morgan & Scott MacKenzie and learn to tie flies with the Edinburgh fly tiers. As always there will be a Barbeque including refreshments. The event is completely free and fun for all ages.

Country Life at Hopetoun House

Country Life are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Hopetoun House Summer Fair 2007.

In addition to visiting our stall you will have the opportunity to see fly casting demonstrations and get the chance to have a go yourself (great way to encourage youngsters to the sport). We will be offering some fantastic deals on the day and hope you will all be able to attend to suppport us.

Were sure you will have a great day at the fair as there are loads of fantastic things to see and do set in the wonderful surroundings of Hopetoun House.

Country Life are staging a free fly-fishing event at Bowden Springs Fishery near Linlithgow.

The event will feature casting demonstrations, free advice and tuition, and fly-tying demonstrations with the chance to participate. There will be barbeque and refreshments, and a huge range of the best fly-rods in the world for people to play with.

In addition "Scott MacKenzie" International Spey Casting Champion and World Distance Record Holder will be giving casting demonstrations on the day.

This is a completely free event and we are not selling any of the kit being demonstrated or displayed. Families and children are very welcome as this would be an excellent opportunity to introduce youngsters to the sport.

All the staff here at Country Life would like to wish company director Jim Gargaro all the best with his latest venture trying his hand at fishery management. For those of you haven't already heard, Jim and his wife Jacqui are the new owner's of Bowden Springs trout fishery (situated 2 miles outside Linlithgow on the A706) 

The ever popular fishery is well stocked with top quality hard fighting rainbow, brown and blue trout and is situated on a beautiful well maintained site consisting of a 2 acre fly pond and a larger 5 acre bait pond.
